Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this site. Here is the standard we hold ourselves to, and how to tell us when we fall short.

Our commitment
MEIRYA is working to make meirya.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, or reduced motion.
The standard we work to
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the benchmark US courts and regulators generally look to. We treat it as an ongoing obligation rather than a one-time audit.
What we have done
- Semantic headings and landmarks, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure.
- Text and background colors checked for contrast, including the type set over photography — the category cards carry a gradient behind their text specifically so the contrast ratio holds.
- Visible keyboard focus, and interactive controls sized to a comfortable touch target.
- Labels on every form field, with validation errors tied to their field and announced rather than shown by color alone.
- Motion and scroll-triggered reveals suppressed for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
- A store locator that works by typed city or ZIP code, so nothing depends on granting location access.
Known limitations
We are honest about where we are not there yet:
- The interactive map is inherently visual. The stockist results are also presented as a text list, which is the accessible path through the same information, but the map itself is not fully equivalent.
- The hero carries a background video. It is decorative and silent, but we are reviewing whether it needs an explicit pause control.
- Some third-party content we link to — our Shopify store, our social profiles — is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
Tell us about a barrier
If any part of this site is hard to use, we want to hear about it, and we will treat it as a bug rather than a request. Email info@meirya.com with the page address and what went wrong. We aim to acknowledge within five business days.
If you need information from this site in another format, ask us and we will get it to you another way.
